Air Purifiers with HEPA Filters can Significantly Reduce the Spread of COVID-19 – CDC Research

HEPA Filters have been known to be an effective measure at removing viruses in the air including the COVID-19 Virus by eliminating the particles on which the viruses are riding on.

A research by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) in the USA, back from November to December 2020, performed in the state of Georgia USA, has proven that Air Purifiers equipped with HEPA Filters can in fact reduce virus spread and transmission among students during their face-to-face classes during this pandemic.
In the CDC research, there were 123 primary (elementary) schools that participated. The objective of the research was to analyze how Air Purifiers and Ventilation Systems with HEPA Filters can effectively reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The results have shown that there were significantly lower infection rates for schools using Air Purifiers with HEPA Filters in their classrooms, as much as 41% lower infection rates, compared to classrooms that did not.

The study has shown that in classrooms that did not use HEPA Filter fitted air purifiers but enhanced their ventilation, their transmission rate is 29% lower compared to classrooms that did not enhance their ventilation system.
For those who are asking, what if these strategies were combined together? Air Purifiers with HEPA Filters together with enhanced Ventilation, found a significantly lower rate of infection. 47% lower infection rate compared to classrooms that did not have both of the strategies.
The CDC research also took into account that the schools compared have the same rates of infection in their community. They also have taken into account the local infections outside the school, and the reduction of transmission remains the same.
